Essie Merino Cool

26 Mar

Hello nail polish addicts! Sorry for no post over the weekend, I was out-of-town with some family. 🙂 And of course this afternoon my index finger nail breaks, so now I have nubs. 😦

A few weeks ago a VERY nice friend of mine gave me some old polishes that she doesn’t use and Merino Cool was one of them. 🙂 I have manyyyy Essie polishes and I honestly don’t think I have been disappointed by any of them. IMO Essie’s formula is so easy to work with, and the finished product always turns out even and smooth.

Merino Cool is a purplely tan color. I usually turn towards brighter colors, but I really like this color.

2 coats

I then used OPI I Brake For Manicures and BM-215 for a giraffe print. I think it looks so cute with my little nubby nails ha 🙂

What do you think?!

Deborah Lippmann- I Know What Boys Like

18 Mar

Hello nail polish addicts! I know I promised a lot of posts this week because I was on spring break, but you know those weeks where you plan on having the most relaxing week you can have and everything ends up going wrong? Well, that was this week! And I was going to do a St. Patrick’s Day post yesterday but all the mani’s I did I didn’t like. wahh! So I decided to treat myself to my Deborah Lippmann polish that I haven’t tried yet 🙂 and I have to say I was NOT disappointed. I had a lot of expectations for this polish because of the hype it gets from other bloggers and for its expensiveness ($16!), but I have not one bad word to say about it. This is I Know What Boys Like (all her polishes are named after song titles), a periwinkle blue.

Swooooon 😉 So because I loved the color so much I wanted a stamp that wouldn’t take away from the color a lot. I chose RA-208, a shattered glass design with Blue Konad Special Polish. The colors together are very subtle and I couldn’t capture it very well in picture, esp with the design I used but I like it! I like that when you look far away at it, it looks like IKWBL by its self and when you look closer you can see a design. 🙂

What do you think?! How much have you splurged on a nail polish?

Let The Games Begin! China Glaze Capitol Colours- Riveting & Electrify

13 Mar

Happy Tuesday everyone! Because it is my spring break, I’m able to start reading The Hunger Games. I’m almost done with book 1 and I can now say I’m obsessed! So that’s why I chose to do a Hunger Games post featuring 2 of the China Glaze colors: Riveting and Electrify.

Before I talk about Riveting I’ll let the pictures do the talking…

2 coats

This polish was AMAZING! The first stroke I made my eyes literally popped out! The pigment in this polish is unbelievable! IMO if you were to buy any of the Hunger Games colors, this one should be it!!!!!!

Next to Electrify-

This is a glitter polish that has large red hexagonal, and small round gold glitter 🙂 Makes me feel like my nails are “the girl on fire” haha.

What do you think?! Have you read The Hunger Games yet?

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Pro- Wild Orchid

10 Mar

Happy weekend polish lovers! It is an especially happy weekend for me because my spring break has started! I am thrilled to not have to think about school for a full WEEK and to think about fun stuff like nail polish. 🙂 So I’ve gotten all my untrieds lined up to try all this week. yay! First up is Rimmel London Lasting Finish Pro Wild Orchid. I have never tried Rimmel London before so I had no idea what to expect. I was a little nervous when I opened the bottle though, because the brush was so thick and wide. MORE so than OPI brushes.

Here’s a picture of the brush compared to an OPI brush (Purple-RL, Pink-OPI):

So now you can see why I was a little nervous (I really thought it would cover my entire pinky finger lol). Surprisingly, I had nothing to worry about. It applied perfectly! I did have to dip my brush a few times to get more polish on my nail but I didn’t have any troubles with the brush itself. Here’s the finished product! (2 coats)

So I chose Wild Orchid out of all my untrieds first because I already knew what color I wanted to use to stamp it with, my ever-trusty Essie Sexy Divide 🙂 I also used RA-113 stamp.

What do you think!? I’ve been calling it my funk-a-delic mani 🙂

Glitter Post! Milani Jewel FX

3 Mar

Happy weekend nail polish lovers! My weekend has been super busy with studying, but of course I made time for my nails! 😉 I have been kinda going crazy about glitter polishes lately so I have two of the Milani Jewel FX colors. Before I say anything about them, I’ll let the pictures do the talking. 🙂

Milani Jewel FX Gem over 2 coats of Sinful Colors Black on Black

I LOVED this polish. It was like having a party on my nails 🙂 It has small and big multi-color hexagonal shapes. I have wanted Deborah Lippmann’s Happy Birthday for forever it seems but I just can’t push myself into spending $18 on a nail polish right now. So instead I spent $4 for Gem and I personally think it is a beauty 🙂 After applying it though I found I need to thin it a little to keep the big glitters from chunking up.

Next up…

Milani Jewel FX Fuchsia over 2 coats of Butter London Queen Vic (QV will have its own post because I fell in love with her 😉 )

So because I found Gem needed some thinning I decided to thin Fuchsia as well and I’m glad I did. I personally LOOOVVEEE this one! It feels like there’s a pink disco going on on my nails 🙂 I wish now I would have also tried Fuchsia out on a black base just to see the full effect of the pink but I still like it 🙂

All-in-all I couldn’t be happier with these 2 polishes!

What do you think?!
