Milani Key West & Essie Turquoise and Caicos

23 Apr

Hello everyone! I won’t say Happy Monday because Monday’s are never happy 😉 I have had this mani on since yesterday, but I’m just now getting around to posting it. And I will say that when I did the stamped mani yesterday, a few hours later I played on a church softball league thing where I had a glove on and off for 2 hours and my mani is still perfection 🙂

Oh, and I have been playing around with my watermark, trying to decide where I like it. So please deal with me for a little while 😉

First up is Milani Key West. This is one of the polishes I got in my Milani giveaway and I loooove it! It’s not emerald-green, or a turquoise…it’s kinda both mixed with blue shimmer. (If any of that made since)

3 coats

How gorg is this color?! And I’m usually not a fan of greens…

So because I just got this polish, I wanted to see how it would stamp. So I chose Essie Turquoise and Caicos as my base.

3 coats

Ugh I looove this color. Key West kinda reminded me of a mermaid or fish so I used a Red Angel fish scale (I’m calling it mermaid scales) plate. I’ll add the plate number in here later, I know I’m slackin! I think Key West stamped pretty good, and my nails look like mermaids. 🙂

What do you think?!

Paparazzi Don’t Preach & First Ever Nail Mail!

20 Apr

Happy Friday!! I hope everyone’s week was good, mine was 🙂 I only had one test this week whoop whoop! and I got my first nail mail ever!! I had entered Milani’s MVP giveaway on Twitter and I was one of the lucky few that won! I got SIX(!!!) beautiful polishes, all shimmer-filled bottles of awesome-ness.

Here’s a picture of all my winnings 🙂

(L-R: Key West, Beach Front, Sail Away, Orchidia, Deep Thoughts, and Silver Stilettos)

How gorg are these colors?! When they arrived I was at school and all my nail supplies are in Houston, so for almost 24 hours I have been able to only stare at them and it’s killing me! I can’t wait to go home and try these beauties out!!!

Ok now on to the beauty that is on my nails 🙂 This week I tried out Paparazzi Don’t Preach from Nicole by OPI (it’s from their Kardashian Collection…meh). The color is a peachy pink that needed 3 coats. The formula was pretty good, the first 2 coats are pretty scary looking but the 3rd coat evens everything out into a shiny, clean finish.

Gorg no?! I’m not a huge fan of natural or nudes (I like some color!! 😉 ) but I actually really like this one.

I then stamped it with OPI You Don’t Know Jacques and a Bundle Monster plate (I don’t have the number with me, but if you want to know just comment or message me). YDKJ isn’t the best stamping polish but I really liked how it came out kinda faded, making it look tribal or something. I still have it on my nails 2 days later and I love it more and more everyday 🙂

The Hunger Games- Part Deux

15 Apr

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend 🙂 Today I have my other two China Glaze Capitol Colors. I just finished The Hunger Games series and I loved it! I even liked the movie, which is a surprise for myself. I usually hate the movie versions of books and after what they did with Twilight, I was leery on how HG would be. I was really happy with who they casted for everyone, including Rue! (some people are so stupid..) And I didn’t really mind the things they left out (other than Madge). Now, the pictures!

Stone Cold

2 coats

This is a dark gray/blackish color with silver shimmer in it, and dries matte. This is a one coater, but I needed some corrections 😉 Next is Stone Cold again, but with a top coat.

I love this polish so much more with a top coat. The silver shimmer comes out so much more, and from a distance it looked like I had metal on them 😉

Lastly, Smoke and Ashes.

2 coats

Smoke and Ashes has a black base with tiny green flecks in it. I have heard of others having a “bad” batch of this, where the flecks don’t show up as much, but mine seems just fine! I think its a gorggg color, just not for spring/summer. It could also have easily been one coat, but again I needed some corrections.

Hope you enjoyed! Have you tried any of The Hunger Games polishes?

Having Mermaid Dreams Between The Sheets

14 Apr

Ha. Yall like my attempt at humor in my title 😉 Happy weekend! Today I have two Deborah Lippmann polishes. I absolutely love ALL her polishes. Let’s get to the pictures 🙂

Mermaid’s Dream

2 coats

I LOVE this polish. It has this weird rough texture that makes you think your nails have mermaid scales on them or something 🙂 And yes, this was 2 coats!! I probably could have done used one more coat, because in sunlight you can kinda see a VNL but who wants to use up all their Mermaid’s Dream?! Not me! So I stuck with 2 and I am very satisfied. 🙂

Next, Between The Sheets

2 coats

How gorg is this color!? I thought for a second it had a dupe, but none in my stash 🙂 And yes, another 2 coater. Another reason to love DL.

I then decided to stamp it with Sinful Colors Black On Black and m26. I then made the center of the flowers with a dotting tool and a silver Konad Special Polish.

What do you think?! Do you have a polish brand that never lets you down?

Essie Van D’ Go and Glitter Mani!

7 Apr

Happy Easter weekend! I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend! I however have to study the whole weekend for a huge test on Tuesday. 😦 Because of this I think my bad mood transferred to my manicures. I like them, I just think I could have done a better job. I was kinda rushing 🙂

I’m not big on doing themed manicures (like for holidays) so I TRIED to keep with Easter feeling colors, but whatever 🙂 I chose Essie Van D’ Go as my base, a peachy pink color. The formula was ok. I needed 3 coats for full opacity.

I then stamped it with Essie Tart Deco, a peachy pink color. I also used BM-210 for the design. 🙂

I loved the stamp at the end. I just wish I would have taken my time : / So that’s why I have a glitter mani, but again, I was disappointed. I chose OPI That’s Berry Daring as my base, a magenta pink (reminds me of Kiss Me On My Tulips) and put Nicole by OPI Love Your Life on top. When I first saw this glitter, I was so excited to try it out with the big hearts in it. When I did try it, I could never get the hearts on the brush, and when I did, I also had a huge amount of polish on my brush. ughughugh So in the end I never got any hearts on my nails. If I would have known this, I would have just stamped hearts on my nails. Don’t waste your money on this one.

This reminds me of Barbie nails or something haha

What do you think?! Have you had one of those days where none of your polishes worked out right?
