A Riveting Beach Party

29 May

Morning everyone! Sorry for going MIA last week. So much was going on at work and in my family that I just had no time to get on here! One of the things that took up my spare time (not at all in a bad way!) is my big sister, and ONLY sibling got engaged!!!! I now have the duties as Maid of Honor 🙂 As my first task, I of course started brain storming how I am going to do her nails. Her colors are orange’s and blue’s, which I was really excited about all the possibilities we could try! People have also reminded me that this is a wedding, so I shouldn’t go all animal print or something on her nails, but my sister said that that’s what she wants 🙂 (she was also reminded that her nails will be in pictures haha) So I figured we should meet in the middle: still keep her wedding colors on her nails, just go a little more subtle with the stamping. My sister and I would LOOOVE to see yalls ideas for her wedding nails!!! Just email a pic to morgymorg092@gmail.com and I will post them here on my blog! There may even be a little surprise for those that we take inspiration from 🙂 🙂 So send us your pics!!!

Here’s a picture that my sister got her color inspiration from. (Credit Pinterest)

So from all the engagement and wedding excitement I decided to do some orange nails. I would never do my sister’s nails this color for her wedding in the fall…too neon lol. This is 3 coats of Models Own Beach Party.

I then chose BM 210 and China Glaze Riveting to stamp with. This is one of my FAV stamps to use (and I have a special post tomorrow so stay tuned!!!!)

Sweet Dreams Are Made of These

16 May

Happy hump day! I hope it’s going good so far! Mine started a little rocky, but things seem to be smooth sailing now 🙂 Today I have, as you know, one of my favorite brands: Deborah Lippmann! At first I was kinda regretting getting Sweet Dreams. It’s a pink jelly base with holo flakies…how original right? (insert sarcasm) But DL did it to me again and made me fall in love with yet another one of her polishes. When I looked at it in the bottle, I was like ooo. When I got it on my nails I was like oOoOoOo!! I don’t know, it’s just so pretty! The flakies appear goldish/orange, but in certain angles they appear green! oOoOoOo! And it was only 2 coats 🙂 🙂

What do you think?! Gorge right?!

Chevron Manicure

15 May

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone’s weeks are going good so far, and all the momma’s had a great Mother’s Day 🙂 It’s been a while since I did a konadicure, so last night I whipped out all my supplies! I’ve seen a lot of yellow & gold combos lately, so I decided to try it out as well 🙂

For my base I used Milani Yellow Whiz. YW is supposed to be a one coat formula…it was not. I  used 2 coats in the pics below, and I could have used one more. However, I’m going to give the ‘one coat formula’ a break because this was a yellow, I would like to see if it would work with a darker color. All-in-all I really like the color!

I’ve been wanting to try my chevron stamp (BM 201) for a while now, and I thought it would be perfect with my new Barry M Gold that I got from the awesomeeeee Satirical Stylist 🙂

It is quite hard to see the stamp in these pics, but irl you can defiantly see it!

Flyer than Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice

10 May

Hello everyone! Today I have a Models Own polish that was sent to my by the gorgeous Anne from the Satirical Stylist!! Indian Ocean is from the Beetlejuice collection (note my title ha). While I did think about the Beetlejuice movie while using IO, I also had Lil Wayne’s Mr. Carter stuck in my head (“I’m gonna need a Coupe, I won’t need a roof, Flyer then Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice”). There. Now it’s stuck in your head too. I loove that Lil Wayne CD, brings me back 🙂

Now on to polish! This is 3 coats. I could have used one more, but I draw the line at 3. I personally do not like my nails feeling thick from so much polish on them, so I stuck with 3. I looove this polish, it’s so PRETTYYYYY!!! However, from now on I’ll layer it.

What do you think?! Don’t forget to check out Anne’s blog: The Satirical Stylist for all things stylish 🙂
