Chevron Manicure

15 May

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone’s weeks are going good so far, and all the momma’s had a great Mother’s Day 🙂 It’s been a while since I did a konadicure, so last night I whipped out all my supplies! I’ve seen a lot of yellow & gold combos lately, so I decided to try it out as well 🙂

For my base I used Milani Yellow Whiz. YW is supposed to be a one coat formula…it was not. I  used 2 coats in the pics below, and I could have used one more. However, I’m going to give the ‘one coat formula’ a break because this was a yellow, I would like to see if it would work with a darker color. All-in-all I really like the color!

I’ve been wanting to try my chevron stamp (BM 201) for a while now, and I thought it would be perfect with my new Barry M Gold that I got from the awesomeeeee Satirical Stylist 🙂

It is quite hard to see the stamp in these pics, but irl you can defiantly see it!

Essie Splash of Grenadine & Milani Orchidia

1 May

Hello everyone! Happy May! I could not love this month any more because I have practically the entire month off from school! 🙂 I’m finished with finals next Monday, then I have till June to allow my brain to reform from mush. 😉

So to “celebrate” my finals week, I wanted a mani that would brighten my mood.

Oh, and I’ve been having some issues with WordPress these past couple days, anyone else?!

This is Essie Splash of Grenadine (2 coats). I can’t really decide if it is pink or purple, or a mixture of both. I have it on my purple nail wheel so I will go with that. 🙂

I wanted to use another one of my Milani’s that I got in a giveaway so I chose  Orchidia. It’s very similar to SOG, just a little darker with some shimmer. I thought the two would be good to do a stamped mani, but it came out a little more subtle than I wanted. Whatever. I still like it 😉

Milani Key West & Essie Turquoise and Caicos

23 Apr

Hello everyone! I won’t say Happy Monday because Monday’s are never happy 😉 I have had this mani on since yesterday, but I’m just now getting around to posting it. And I will say that when I did the stamped mani yesterday, a few hours later I played on a church softball league thing where I had a glove on and off for 2 hours and my mani is still perfection 🙂

Oh, and I have been playing around with my watermark, trying to decide where I like it. So please deal with me for a little while 😉

First up is Milani Key West. This is one of the polishes I got in my Milani giveaway and I loooove it! It’s not emerald-green, or a turquoise…it’s kinda both mixed with blue shimmer. (If any of that made since)

3 coats

How gorg is this color?! And I’m usually not a fan of greens…

So because I just got this polish, I wanted to see how it would stamp. So I chose Essie Turquoise and Caicos as my base.

3 coats

Ugh I looove this color. Key West kinda reminded me of a mermaid or fish so I used a Red Angel fish scale (I’m calling it mermaid scales) plate. I’ll add the plate number in here later, I know I’m slackin! I think Key West stamped pretty good, and my nails look like mermaids. 🙂

Neon Love! Ladies In The Limelight, Purple Panic, & Dude Blue

1 Apr

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone’s weekend was good! In spirits of the spring/summer temperatures, I have some neon love for everyone. 🙂

First up, Nicole by OPI Ladies In The Limelight. This is a yellow/lime green color (it photographed more yellow). I was more excited about this color and after putting it on, I was more bleh about it.

3 coats

Next up is China Glaze Purple Panic. It has a slight tint of purple, but it leans more neon pink. Nothing else to really say about it other than it lived up to the China Glaze name by having a perfect formula.

2 coats

Lastly is Milani Neon Dude Blue. While I do not like the name for this color at all, I have to say it was my favorite color and formula. It only took 2 coats which is nice, and the final result is so smooth and shinyyyy 🙂

What do you think?! Hope you enjoyed the neon 🙂
